Permits and skills cards for lifting (FAQs)
Do we need a permit and signage? If so, who is doing it?
As soon as we have to encroach on the public road (streets, sidewalks, alleys, etc.) with our equipment (ladders, cherry pickers, etc.), we have no choice but to obtain an occupancy permit from the municipal authorities.
In order to obtain this permit, we are also required to submit a signage plan that will allow us to work safely and legally on the site.
There are, of course, additional fees for permits and signage, and it is difficult to estimate the costs accurately. Street type, space, occupancy time and signage requirements are all factors that dictate costs.
For logistical and planning reasons, Elite caulking takes care of the formalities for you. These additional fees, including a small administrative charge, are never included in the submission.
Should the work be done by employees with CCQ competency cards?
Several renovation projects are subject to the various collective agreements in place in the construction industry. In such a case, Calfeutrage Élite must declare the hours worked for each employee assigned to various projects subject to the project.
It is the type of building and certain specific conditions that determine whether or not your project is subject to CCQ rates.
Single-family principal residences (residential areas) are among the only classes of buildings that are not subject to them. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in the closure of a construction site and the imposition of hefty fines.
